& David Flint Wood were married

India Hicks (b.1967) and David Flint Wood (b.1961), her long-term partner and father of her five children, were finally married today at St Bartholomew's Church, Brightwell Baldwin, Watlington, Oxfordshire - the local parish church close to the home of her mother The Lady Pamela Hicks (b.1929), youngest daughter of Mountbatten.

After several delays (due to the Covid pandemic) the couple, who have been together for twenty-five years (during which they had five children) and who always said that they would never get married, finally 'tied the knot'. India was given away by her eldest son Felix Flint Wood (b.1997). Amongst the wedding guests were a few well known celebrities including - French fashion designer Christian Louboutin (b. 1963), whose twin daughters were bridesmaids; former model and author Sophie Dahl (b.1977), the granddaughter of author Roald Dahl (1916-1990) and Oscar winning Hollywood actress Patricia Neal (1926-2010), who was accompanied by her husband, jazz singer/pianist Jamie Cullum (b.1979); Hollywood actress and former model Brooke Shields (b.1965) and TV property guru and home crafting designer The Hon. Kirstie Allsopp (b.1971), eldest daughter of Charles Allsopp, 6th Lord Hindlip (b.1940). The bride's mother - Lady Pamela, who is 92yrs old, wore a navy blue silk shirt dress and matching blue hat and arrived in a wheelchair.

Mrs David Flint Wood (India Hicks) -
the bride wore a dress from the designer Emilia Wickstead.
India's bridal bouquet was made by florists Pulbrook & Gould,
who also made her mother's own bridal bouquet in 1960

Their wedding ring was a simple gold and diamond band from Charlotte Chesnais, which the couple chose together in Paris a few months earlier. Inside the band are the words (in Latin) "amor vincit omnia" (love conquers all).
The wedding reception was held in the Lord Nelson pub, which is immediately opposite the church where they were married. The couple will honeymoon in Greece.

In an informal evening event (which ended with a large firework display) beneath palm trees and party lights, the newlyweds along with their children and friends who were not able to attend the wedding in the UK, partied long into the night. The bride wore a white embroidered dress from the Australian brand Zimmerman.
