On 14th November 2023, King Charles III (1948(2022-    ) celebrated his 75th birthday with a private dinner at his London residence - Clarence House, the former home of his late grandmother: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (1900-2002).

​

His Majesty - who was born at Buckingham Palace (a short walk down The Mall from Clarence House), hosted members of the Royal Family and close friends to celebrate this landmark birthday.

Amongst the guests seen arriving was Penny, The Countess Mountbatten of Burma (b.1953), wife of Norton, 3rd Earl Mountbatten of Burma (b.1947) - Mountbatten's grandson.  The Earl and The Countess have been separated since 2010.  The King was best-man at their wedding in 1979, a few months after that fateful day in August 1979 when Mountbatten was murdered.  Other guests spotted arriving were The Rt Hon. Rory Stewart, a former diplomat/Army officer turned politician - who served in the Cabinet of The Rt Hon. Theresa May, Lady May (b.1956); Lady Sarah Hussey, 

Baroness Hussey of North Bradley (b.1939), a former senior Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Elizabeth II (1926(1952-2022) and god-mother to Prince William, The Prince of Wales (b.1982); and the jazz/blues musician Jules Holland (b.1958), who is a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Kent.
